Let Me Handle It

It would be easy to say that we handle things ourselves because we feel like we can do a better job, but that's honestly not the reason. We know good and well that we cannot outdo God. The real reasons are: 1- we fear what could be, 2 - we fear what we do not know, 3 - we fear the outcome, 4 - we are used to handling things ourselves because others have proven to us that we can only trust it when we do it, and 5 - we want control over it. Does that seem more accurate? I know I found myself in a few of those reasons. What about you?
I used to have this saying: "Keep homegirl under the kitchen sink. Leave her alone. Let her be." She is whom I'd call on to "enter in" (if you will) to handle situations that the good Christian girl Keisha couldn't or wouldn't, who's bound by the scriptures, but homegirl ain't, or wasn't, should I say, 😂.
One day I said it, and the LORD spoke to me so subtly and said, "If she's there, then that means you still have access to her and her to you. I want that. She has to die." I certainly gave Him the side eye 👀, cause what you meeean?
Then I quickly folded because I knew what that meant; I had to grow and mature. Ugh! I know y'all feel me, right?! It was so funny, right, because I just had this conversation with my daughter-in-law a few days before leaving town for two weeks. Boy, oh boy, I didn't know I was going to be tested within the following weeks. See, I had agreed with God that homegirl must die.
Whelp! He showed me where I was at because, hunty, I was tested quickly. There was an infraction in dealing with someone. I was so angry that I called my husband and asked him to talk me off the ledge, because chile, I was there! You 👏🏽 hear 👏🏽 me?! Well, you'd be pleased to know that I did not fall over the edge; I was pushed close to it but did not go over lol (IYKYK). So, I went about my business BUUUUTTTT THEN the next day came and another infraction occurred. I was so livid that I kept repeating to myself that "we gone handle this ta-day!" The LORD knew I was serious and was ready for whateva because He said so gently, "Let Me handle it." I gave the side eye again cause, what You meeeaaannnn?! You see this?! Did you see what she said to me?! Naw, I'm gone handle this ta-day. He repeated, without an elevated voice, "Let Me handle it." We went back and forth a few times. But I gave in because I didn't want them problems with the LORD (again, IYKYK).
Annndddd...let me tell y'all something...He turned that thing around IMMEJIDLY!!!! I didn't have to say a word. How they handled me was completely different. I was shocked! Cause bae bae when I say that I was being mishandled...uhm...let's just leave it at that.
Did y'all see what happened, though? There was no chaos, no shifting of the atmosphere in a bad way. When the LORD did it, peace abounded, and the work didn't stop. I was able to let it go and grow. I also learned that I was calling on the wrong one to handle my situation. Homegirl was ready for whateva to pop off, but that would have ended badly. Homegirl was not the one to call on for the results that I truly wanted, in my heart. The LORD presented me with a situation so I could see that it's okay to let her die and to call on Him. He has my back. He is Jehovah Nissi, the LORD my banner. 🙌🏽
Trust the LORD with your most tender moments. Trust Him with your hardest battles. Trust Him with your most intimate issues. He has your back. He is your BANNER. He's already there; He's just waiting for you to call on Him instead of trusting yourself. He knows what you have endured, but He's also aware of His capabilities. You don't have to fear the unknown or the outcome, nor do you have to control it. He's right there to handle it all.
Blessings,
