Take The Pressure Off

There’s a saying my husband hipped me to, “Failure to plan on your end does not constitute an emergency on mine.” Probably, 90% of us are carrying weight that doesn’t belong to us. That’s a high rate. It seems like quite a few people around me carries weight that actually belongs to someone else, that also includes me. Will there be times when we have to help others? Absolutely! Of course! But helping others is vastly different than carrying their luggage. Will God require you to help someone for a season and help them carry their weight? Yep. But that’s only for a season, not a lifetime. We just have to seek the LORD on which one it is and how to help.

We are to help, NOT take their test for them…and therein lies the rub.

Question. If we give our all to carry someone else’s baggage plus our own, how are we supposed to carry the luggage of our assignment and answering God’s call?

Take a minute to think about that before answering. Then ask the LORD what do you need to release, so you can be free. Make no mistake, taking on other people’s pressure (luggage) means they don’t have it, nor are they holding it, and they are free. So, riddle me this Batman/woman, why are you bound with someone else’s stuff while they are free to do what they want? That is NOT designed by God!

YOU ARE NOT A BAGGAGE HANDLER!

Repeat after me…

I AM NOT A BAGGAGE HANDLER!

Say it again…

I AM NOT A BAGGAGE HANDLER!

One last time and say it with ya chest…

I AM NOT A BAGGAGE HANDLER!

That’s right, you are not a baggage handler; that’s God’s job, not yours. I want to be the voice of reason that you hear this morning. You don’t have to live in regret; you can live within reason. God has given you a measure of capacity, so if you are exhausted, overwhelmed, burned out, and over-extended, it’s because you are way beyond your capacity, and it’s time to make reasonable decisions concerning your life. THIS IS YOUR LIFE and you are the one who’s going to have to give an account when the time comes. And what are you going to tell God???? Please don’t say you’re going to blame the ones you “helped” because it’s not going to work. You are responsible and in control of your Yes and No, not anyone else. 👈🏽 Read that again!

And you know what else? You don’t owe NOBODY an explanation of why you are saying no more often, taking care of yourself, enjoying your life, being in compliance with the LORD’S will for your life, and making everyone carry their own luggage! Even the airport makes you pick up your luggage once they’ve helped you get to where you are going. And…and, if you want them to carry your luggage to your vehicle, you have to pay them for that because it is a service 👩🏽‍✈️. Going beyond the scope of what was agreed upon treads into VIP status and for that status, bae, bae, you gone have to pay for that! You are providing VIP service for people who haven’t even paid the cost! 👀🥴

I hope you are getting this. I pray this is coming through. I want better for you. Trust me, I know what it feels like to be in those shoes. I wore them for decades and now, I’m finally breaking free! And trust me, it did not come without cost…but baby that was a cost I was 👏🏽 willing 👏🏽 to 👏🏽 pay! And because I put the LORD at the forefront of it all, He was with me, and all was well 😇💕. He’s going to test you and you MUST past the test! It’s crucial that you do! I did and it was a hard decision but it’s a decision, in the end, that I don’t regret making and now new doors made just for me are opening. And I tell you what! I’m going to enjoy walking through them without apology and without regret! Be blessed. I love you and want you to live the life that the LORD has pressed upon your heart to have. Smooches!
